Close some threads to the public.
In some threads the answer is not with some customers a matter of saying you need to do this and explaining why and which parts. In some threads you give away a lot of information because you have to do a step by step with the customer, especially in appliances. There is enough info given through testing and procedures that a lot of people will pick up on the answer right away without ever needing to see the final solution. Maybe it would be a good idea to close some of these type of threads to the public.

I agree with Kelly's ideal...all answers on Google and other search engines, should be locked until the person pays some kind of fee to view them. Let's say $8. Of that $8, of course 50% should go to the answering expert and Pearl/JA gets the other 50%. There should be another report set up for internet answers only. Any computer savvy person can easily find our answers via different search engines, especially Google. JA/Pearl is GIVING away way too much information to the general public via the internet search engines. Another option is showing 2-3 lines of the answer as a teaser. If a person wants to see the full answer, then they have to pay to view the full answer. Charging $8 is more than reasonable for valuable information.

I agree to posting perhaps ONLY the first question, and showing "Answered" under it. I have had too many customer post saying that they have the SAME problem (which it never is), and they saw the solution. Great right? No, because now they have their TV, stereo, whatever torn apart "thinking" that they know what they're doing, when in essence they're making a problem worse. Then they have to literally be un-taught the wrong solution, and convinced that there problem is not the same, then told a new solution. It's like unbuilding a house first so that you can build it and it's a lot of extra effort.

I have been telling JA for more than a year that they are biting the hand that feeds them. Allowing ANY of the experts answers to be able to be googled is causing big loss of income for both the experts and JA. This is not just a supposition, This is first hand experience from frior customers saying that they no longer need to contact JA to get an answer because they can google ANY answer that they need for free. I have tried this myself and it works. I have NEVER EVER paid for an answer because I can ALWAYS find an answer for FREE . All of every experts answers are available to the public on JA just by clicking on an experts Profile. This has to stop or JA and Pearl will go out of business as will the experts who answer the questions.

All question threads that are made available to search engines should be edited/cropped/redacted so the searcher only sees part of the answer not the whole solution. We are losing customers because of this. I've lost count of how many times I've heard references to posted answers. I've even had friends tell me they didn't need to pay because they Googled the answer for free!! Posting redacted/partial answers will still prove our credibility and drive traffic to the site

I think all of the answers we provide should be locked unless you pay. Why have a paid site if you post the answers for free?!
