  1. Selling 1 penny candy for 5 cents, works. You cannot get that markup on larger items however.

    There are several issues regarding Additional Services. The mark up can be 100% in the $20 range but will not work in the $500 range to any significant degree... that mistake is costing JA a lot of business.

    1. In my engineering and design business there are limits as to what a customer will pay. .. and limits to how cheap any designer will work.

    You cannot mark a $250 design job up to $500 and expect to sell it very often. A lower mark up will get a higher volume.

  2. Sliding scale for Additional Service fees.

    Lets suppose that Ebay wanted to charge $10 for using its platform to sell a $10 item... that would be a $20 sell price.

    You would have a fair chance of getting the sale at $20.... that ebay charge would be the exact equivalent of what JA wants to sell an additional service.

    However if you want to sell a $50,000 car on ebay you will only pay $500 or whatever for use of the platform.... ebay makes lot of money at 10%.

    If ebay wanted to charge $50,000 to use its platform, no cars would ever be sold on…

  3. JA sets up a customer for low prices...that makes additional services look like a bait and switch

    JA attracts customers with low price offers, but that makes higher price offers such as Additional Services look like a bait and switch.

    It might be better to post a menu of services at the outset. for example:

    • Just a quick pat answer. $10 or whatever.
    • Brief case and situation analysis. 30 minutes or so $35
    • In depth analysis, coaching in repairs, medical or other proceedings, up to a week on and off. $120

    That sets the customer up for a lot more money right from the start.

  5. display the correct new & available questions.

    The new & available question list displays numbers totaling categories that I have filtered out, so it is not an accurate number. How about only displaying the number of new & available questions that I have not filtered out.

  6. Have someone working here to address these requests on uservoice.

    I see a lot of submissions but only one completed response, one being decided and one rejected. Why would anyone want to use this service if it is not being taken seriously?
    The declined response was about 8 months ago. The completed one on the very same day 2/27/15 and the 3rd has been under review for over 2 and 1/2 year now. Is that productivity or what?

  7. “I am ready to rate” button and “Submit” button need to be placed on the left top of the page.

    “I am ready to rate” button and “Submit” button need to be placed on the left top of the page right after the “Status” of the post for better visibility. Lately, I have accidentally submitted answers as Info Requests because of where these two buttons are hidden on the bottom of the page. It took follow-ups from site users for me to realize that I sent my answers as Info Requests. Who knows of others that I have missed...

  8. Pay expert accepting phone call rather than first expert who replies.

    Is there a chance of getting the phone call request system changed from current plan. Currently first expert who replies gets paid the bulk of the question when in most cases he did not solve the problem. Person accepting call gets 9 bucks for sometimes an hour or two troubleshooting.
    Expert solving the customer's issue should be rewarded rather than first expert to simply make a comment. Appears we have at least one expert taking advantage of the current system by posting a reply even when he does not know anything about unit in question. Thanks in advance.

  9. I need a website that allows clients to upload MRI Files (DICOM files). Can you add that to the JA website? Thanks Dr Frank

    used to use www.image32.com as a site to have clients upload their MRI's. I could then review them and give them expert advice on their findings. The website recently closed its services to outside clients, as have most MRI upload sites. JA once stated (when building PEARL) that they would provide a imaging platform so we as experts could review imaging files posted by clients, but that didn't happen. Any chance? Thanks Dr Frank

  10. On receiving click (which may be an automatic programmed software) there should be a CAPTCHA box which can exclude all non-human clicks.

  12. Offer phone call option in beginning as a choice.Customers getting upset over bait and switch

    Have had several customers complained about bait and switch and recently asking for refunds because they are billed twice.Was called back by one customer saying he was pleased with my help but disappointed with misleading from website and requested a refund of one of the charges.

  13. Locked phone call notification for expert on Request Center

    Currently, a phone call request for a specific expert has a 5 minute timer and the request ONLY pops up on the Active Request window that the requested expert can only see if that specific question thread is actively in front of them. This is not enough of a notification. I propose that a different tone bell and a notification with a 5 minute lock appear on the Request Center window to give the requested expert more notification. Thank you!

  14. Improve Customer Satisfaction by the following:

    1) Issue an edict that eliminates any mention of how the customer is to rate the expert's input during the initial stages of the interaction, and, enforce no rating mentions in the very first paragraph that the customer sees in the chat experience. Why? because too many times new customers are skeptical on the usage of this site. Everybody is scared of scams. If I ask a question, and I see a 100 word paragraph on 'how and why to rate the expert', and a 9 word attempt at an 'answer' to my inquiry, I would be skeptical too. There…

  15. Opening and Closing Messages

    I noticed that many experts tend to have their own opening and closing statements that they use all the time. It would be nice if your system could have this feature added where you could:

    • Choose to use custom messages on/off
    • A field to enter a opening message
    • A field to enter a closing message
    • Also have the Rating button automatically checked on the closing message

  17. Experts should be able to contact other experts via PM - we need a directory of usernames to this.

    A directory so that when you wish to contact another expert via a PM you can just look it up and then send the message.

  18. Allow the experts to offer addition service not the site!

    Automated additional service offers should be left to the expert. We know what is needed and what it is worth not the site. Also constant pop-up offers of monthly subscriptions and phone calls, etc... makes it all the more difficult when we want to offer remote assistance or something else because by that point the customer feels they are being nickeled and dimed to death. Many feel it is a scam because of that alone.

  19. Add a another method of payment to experts. Nor only paypal

    I suggest you also pay us by wire transfer or check bcs where I live we don't have paypal so I am not sure how I will be collecting my revenues
