Expert Opt Out
When an Expert Opts out He /She is granted Immunity from Positive or Negative feedback. All of my Negative feedback comes from Opt outs and it seems a tad unfair. We opt out so the customer has a chance at the answer he / she is after.

In my experience there *is* immunity - provided you *stay* Opted Out. If you view the case after the customer posts again to the case, then you have Opted In again by viewing it. I suggest that in every such case, you the Expert need to hit Opt Out again after viewing the question and finding that the question is one where you Opted Out - and, where you wish to keep on being Opted Out.

I try to only answer questions I know I am capable of helping with. If I do some info requests and find that they are someone who is unwilling to help me help them then I simply let them know another expert will come along and I never provide an "ANSWER" and they have nothing to negatively rate.

I have had this happen on several instances. When will this be fixed so that when we OPT Out of a question the user cannot simply give negative feedback simply because they did not get more assistance?

I agree. I'm a newbie here, and I opted out of a question that was going no where because the persone wouldn't listen to my reasoning about her sick cat. I even asked if she wanted me to opt out and said "ok" then turned around and rated me poor. I never saw the question again on the site- so maybe that's why she rated me poor? This needs some help. I found out you have to click immunity button when you post your response. STUPID! If you opt out, you shouldn't be able to be rated PERIOD!
